Laurie was born on 4/10/1962 in Peru , Illinois. According to Laurie's mom , when Laurie was 2 years old, Laurie would sing commmercials for her while they shopped in the grocery store . Her dad was part of a barbershop quartet for many years and then taught "barbershop". Laurie first started singing with a band called "Trix" in Ottawa around 1983. After "Trix" Laurie joined "Hot Pursuit" during the 80's . She also had a short stint with an early version of a band called "RoadAngel" in the late 80's. In the early 90's Laurie joined Dick Charbonneau and Dan Carlile in "For Crying Out Loud" and then took some time out before returning to sing with "RoadAngel" in 2005.
