Phil-N-The Blanks was born in the Spring of 2006 when area music veterans Phil Banks, Greg Plym, Daryl"Bucky"Bouxsein, and Craig "Hans" Calsyn came together to bring some hot, Power country and some good ol Rock N Roll to the Illinois Valley.
Phil is a natural born frontman, and has been playing lead guitar and singing the truth for decades. He is best known for fronting the Country Rock icon "SouthBound" as well as many other projects. His voice stirs the emotions that move us all.
Greg started playing the bass in 1967 and teamed up with local guitar hero Gary Marini to form "Cede" and ended up with Dan Carlisle in "Buffalo Rock" in the mid 70's . He took time off to raise his family and switched to rhythm guitar to make way for the legendary Bucky Bouxsein and his thundering bass.
Bucky has been entertaining us all for 30 years, playing with anyone who needed his melodic magic. Bucky played with the "Black Cowboy"; J.J Dickens for many years until he went to the big corral in the sky.
Hans is the glue that keeps this whole thing together. The big man with the sticks of thunder, Powers the beat that defines this band...Raw, Emotional, Real.
